Undergraduate course in New Testament Greek and Textual Criticism, graduate courses on Apocalypticism and translation techniques in the history of the transmission of the Bible (MA level), NOSTER PhD seminar for the field of Biblical Studies (together with prof. Klaas Spronk).
I teach Greek, New Testament textual criticism, and specialisation courses on the history of early Christianity and apocalyptic literature of early Judaism and early Christianity.
Research Profile
Prof. Lietaert Peerbolte focuses in his research two topics in particular. On the one hand, there is the development of Christianity, its ideas and forms, out of the context of Hellenistic Judaism. On the other hand, there is the transmission and modern reconstruction of the text of the New Testament (textual criticism). The apostle Paul is one of the main points of his attention, but recently emphasis has shifted towards an interdisciplinary approach of the shaping of Christian paideia in the first two centuries.
