Prof. R. J. RussellProfessor of Theology and Science; Director, Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences

    Research Profile

My research areas are on the methodological and conceptual interactions between Christian Trinitarian theology and the natural sciences and mathematics.  This includes the resurrection of Jesus and the eschatological transformation of the cosmos in light of contemporary science; theistic evolution and non-interventionist objective divine action in light of science.

    Teaching Profile

I regularly teach doctoral and seminary courses as a faculty member of the Graduate Theological Union where I am the Ian G. Barbour Professor of Theology and Science in Residence.  Courses include introductory classes in science and religion for advanced M. Div. students and specialized doctoral seminars in theology and science on selected frontier topics.
